It was the spring of 2008, in San Jose, California. Laura Nelson has heard enough talk of aspiring entrepreneur Jonathan Jonathan: "I love you, dear, but you have to get out of the house! Go meet and talk to other like-minded people about this." Shortly thereafter, the "Hacker & Founder "was first held at St. John's Bar & Grill in Sunnyvale. Five people, including Jonathan, attended. And the rest is history.

In three years, Hacker / Founder (as it is now styled) has evolved into a network of meetings for startup communities around the world. The hacker chapters / founders can now be found in 132 cities in 48 countries. In addition to meetings, Hacker / Founder also organizes educational classes, tech talks, and other awesome events.

Following the advice of Naval Ravikant of AngelList, the Co-oper Hacker / Founder accelerator was launched in 2011 to provide our first-rate startup service with a unique model - and in our eyes, a superior business model.
